Can I learn to dance?

Dancing is as easy as walking, once you are taught how by an Arthur Murray specialist.  Hundreds of thousands have been successfully taught in Arthur Murray Dance Studios. There is no age limit, and you do not need to bring a partner.

Is it difficult to learn to dance?

Not at all!!  Arthur Murray Dance Studios are famous for making learning fun and easy,  by using the specialized Arthur Murray method.

Will it take long?

You will be able to dance after your first lesson; however the length of the course depends on how many dances you would like to learn and how proficient you would like to become in each dance.

How much do lessons cost?

Tuition depends on a number of factors.  For example,  your proficiency goals,  the dances you choose, the number of lessons you take and how often you practice will affect your rate of learning.

After your first lesson, your instructor will be in a position to recommend a program that fits your schedule, goals and finances.  You will then have the knowledge to make an informed choice that works best for you!  There are no contracts or memberships!

Do I have to pay in advance?

We teach in courses and do NOT have contracts or memberships!  Tuition on courses is most generally paid in advance; especially Basic and Introductory Programs.  However, other arrangements are also available as needed to fit your budget.

Will I learn the latest steps?

You will learn the very latest steps in any social dance such as - Nightclub, Salsa, Swing, Hustle, Samba, Merengue, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Mambo, Waltz, Tango, and many others.  If there is a dance you can do with a partner; we teach it!

Do I have to return to learn the newest steps?

After establishing a good foundation for your dancing; you will be able to analyze the new steps and pick them up yourself without difficulty. However, many students continue with their dance lessons because they enjoy the new friendships, the exercise, and the fun of learning.

Additionally, there are many of the technical aspects or "tricks" in dancing that separate the amateurs from the pro's!  These are the things that you'd never learn anywhere but Arthur Murray! Once you've learned your basics, you'll enjoy the attention you'll receive on the floor, when you've become an "Arthur Murray Dancer."  You can always spot an "Arthur Murray Dancer" on any dance floor! 

I have a busy Schedule. May I take the lessons at any time?

You can take your lessons any time that fits best into busy schedule!  Our studio is open Mon-Fri from 12:00pm-10:00pm, and Sat 12 noon till 4pm.  We are here to accommodate you!  You never have to find a babysitter, either!  We have a reception area, with plenty of room for children to watch a movie, read a book or even to watch mom and dad dance and smile!

Will I have a good teacher?

All of our staff are competent, highly skilled professionals.  To qualify as Arthur Murray dance specialists; they must complete an arduous training program not only in dancing, but in communication and interpersonal skills as well.

Our instructors are experienced and knowledgeable dancers.  Some are trained to work with beginners, and others trained to work with advanced students. The teacher selected for you is someone we know will best suit your needs, desires and personality.  There is always a dance counselor available to answer any of your questions and address any concerns you may have.

What benefits will I derive?

Dancing is our first line of social activity. Learning to dance opens up a wonderful new world of togetherness and a thriving year-round social calendar!  Dancing is a lifetime investment in fun, poise, confidence, improved personality, stress relief and new friends!  Beyond these, dancing is a superb physical conditioner!  It's low impact and provides fun exercise without working at it.

Many physicians send patients to us for rehabilitation after surgery and injury.  This is a great way not only to maintain physical strength but to keep the mind fresh as well.  Recent studies show that dancing is a wonderful means of avoiding depression and early onset of dementia.  The socialization alone will cure most ailments!  Fun and friends are great for mind, body & spirit!
